So Annie asked how many employees do we have or as we call them "baking associates". Sounds much more important than "worker bees", "pastry sluts", or "oven slaves". We are at present an all girl kitchen which we think is pretty cool. And amazingly, we all get along splendidly. For now, anyway. I'm pleased to point out that we are politically correct in that our kitchen represents a variety of nationalities and we do have one male although he is not present in the photo. His name is Nicolas and he is our "Dish Maintenance Coordinator" and a darn good one. The other person missing from the photo is Brittany or Nanny Brit as I call her because, well, she's also a nanny. Duh. She was GREAT at the kid's birthday party.
So, on the left is Jocelyn. She's the business minded one. Always has an idea for a new project. Culinary school grad. Next is Guam Girl, Charity. Also a culinary school grad. Spent 4 years working in Disneyland so she keeps us motivated with lots of mouse-isms like "One Team, One Dream", "Teamwork makes the Dream work", and "Drab to Fab". Then we all group hug. Next is our Mountain Girl, Casey. You'll probably talk to her on the phone before you ever get to me. My human firewall. She's the wiz behind all the wild cakes we make and manages to interpret and bring to life our client's every fanciful whim. Last but certainly not least is Fernanda. Queen of the dough sheeter and all around baker extraordinaire. Oh and there's Nanny Brit (Brittany) all the way to the right. Recent, shiny new culinary grad. Her school was amazing. They offered a class in multi-tasking while speaking on a cell phone.
All in all, they're the best. Really, Just Fabulous!
